Alyson Jones holds a PhD from the University of Michigan and has been teaching Humanities at Vanier College since 2016. As a settler and aspiring ally living in Tiohtià:ke, she served as Coordinator of the Indigenous Studies certificate program at Vanier from 2020-2025, during which time she co-founded Vanier’s Decolonizing Pedagogies Group and Truth and ReconciliACTION Speakers’ Series, and was awarded the Forces Avenir nomination for Committed Staff. She has worked closely with Indigenous students through the Intercollegiate Decolonization Network, helping to publish a student-led Pandemic Response statement and an Action Plan entitled “Taking Action on Systemic Racism in College Education in Quebec: An Indigenous Focus” (2020). Her research has been reocgnized by multiple organizations, including the American Council of Learned Societies, the Fulbright Foundation, the Social Science Research Council and the Mellon Foundation, and the ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Award.
